Corporate Marketing/PR Manager

Blavity is looking for an ambitious Corporate Marketing Manager, with a mix of pr, media, and community relations skills, to spearhead our expanding Corporate Brand in 2018.

None of your days will look the same. Monday may have you liaising with media, Tuesday you’ll be giving a presentation to a large multinational NGO, and Wednesday you will be on stage talking to a group of marketers about Blavity’s approach to building community through original content. You’ll have tremendous flexibility in designing your days, but with that, the responsibility to represent one of the fastest growing media companies, on a mission to make bigger spaces and more rooms for Black millennials.

You’ll be responsible for making sure our brand is protected, insulated, and continues to grow in new and dynamic ways in 2018 and beyond.

This role can be placed in either LA or ATL.


Roles & Responsibilities:

-Quarterly press releases and corporate communications

-Manage corporate talking points for business development managers and marketing managers

-Oversee speaking program – act as point person for vetting and responding to external speaking inquiries; assist with speaker prep; and staff speakers when appropriate

-Align PR and comms strategy with business and revenue goals

-Manage marketing-specific events – work closely with the events team and relevant partners across the firm to design, produce, and manage events on behalf of the marketing team including media dinners, portfolio workshops, and networking receptions

-Management of complex institution-wide initiatives and community partnerships related to diversity and inclusive excellence.



-5- 8 years of leadership roles in either comms/pr, media, org marketing

-Demonstrated understanding of cultural differences, their social and historical construction, and their relationship to power and privilege, with a focus on intersectional solutions

-Proven experience mobilizing program initiatives to target diverse populations at a local and national level, resulting in increased revenue, issue relevance, or direct impact to the growth of the business.    

-Demonstrated knowledge and ability to articulate, engage, and understand the complexities of young black millennials and what matters to them

-Proven ability to lead a diverse team of professionals in analyzing, planning, developing, and managing major projects.

-Proven ability to effectively lead in a matrixed environment, contributing to cross-functional efforts and demonstrated ability to collaborate and function as a contributing member on the senior management team.

-Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required in order to display professionalism and proficiency in the preparation and presentation of analytical reports, documents that define operational status, achievement, and overall performance.

-Experience in executive level presentations and interactions at the senior level of an organization

-Exceptional ability to be an assertive, analytical, creative, and leader with high integrity.

-Demonstrated experience building partnerships and strategic alliances.
