Job Summary:

Blavity is looking for an innovative Manager, Live Events Client Operations  to manage client relationships and oversee events and campaigns for the AfroTech Brand. This role is responsible for project managing the end-to-end client experience from contract to completion and requires dual strengths in internal project management and external partnership communication. The role will build relationships with AfroTech’s clients, implement strategy for sponsorship activations, and support overall client satisfaction and engagement with AfroTech products—including the AfroTech Conference and other large events. The role may also manage a team within the larger Live Events Client Operations team.  

This role will report directly to the Associate Director, Live Events Client Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between key partners to facilitate the execution of client partnership agreements
  • Manage a portfolio of individual client sponsorships including sponsor booths, thought leadership sessions, recruitment activities, events, and unique sponsorship activations such as the Small Business Marketplace to ensure contractual obligations are delivered in a timely and professional manner 
  • Establish a strategy and execution plan for your accounts, including goals and performance metrics
  • Organize and analyze campaign data to ensure measurable ROI and overall client satisfaction 
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director, Live Events Client Operations on key client campaigns to understand scope, KPIs, and renewal/upsell opportunities
  • Research and stay abreast of factors impacting client’s industries and businesses, and identify opportunities for AfroTech to add value
  • Identify and implement process improvements as needed to streamline operations
  • Serve as point of contact for overall client thought leadership sessions and networking events at AfroTech Conference 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal team members and sponsor fulfillment vendors to develop sponsor portal in Map Your Show with all necessary information for client sponsors including deadlines, resources, and Expo Service Kit 
  • Collaborate with the Live Events Operations team to develop client sponsorship registrations reports, timelines, and data 
  • Maintain client communication plan and timeline in collaboration with the Associate Director, Live Events Client Operations 
  • Collaborate and communicate with Business Development, Client Success Management, and Corporate Marketing leads before and during implementation
  • Design and implement fulfillment programs, processes and tools that result in high customer satisfaction, including management of client support email inbox
Qualifications
  • Education: B.S./B.A. in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Required Experience: 5+ years experience in a client facing role with experience managing client portfolios and cultivating relationships with high-profile clients and sponsors  
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 3+ years managing experiential marketing or booth activations
    • 3+ years managing live and virtual event programming 
    • 3+ years experience in a corporate digital media environment 
  • Technologies: Fluent in Map Your Show, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Ability to anticipate areas of risk and implement creative solutions
    • Ability to communicate with diplomacy and skillfully navigate conflicting priorities
    • High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
    • Outgoing and sociable personality; expert at interfacing with partners virtually and in-person
    • A healthy appreciation of GIFS and Black culture

Details: 

  • This is a fully remote, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required. 
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment to the Pacific Time Zone.
  • The salary range for this role is $83,000  - $90,000.
